Music Improvisation and Performance Clinic

The Music Improvisation and Performance Clinic is a fun, interactive workshop designed to suit most skill levels high school-aged and above. Currently we offer the clinic in bass and percussion, and it is designed for students who are considering studying music.  Artistic Director Chester Daigle has hand-picked instructors who are outstanding both as performers and teachers.  This year’s guest instructor will be jazz saxophonist and billboard charting artist, Jessy J.  Students have privileged access to these seasoned instructors and selected artists, who passionately unveil the secrets of their art.  These artists will inspire you with their playing, and then work with you directly to develop your own skills as an improvisor.  All participants have an opportunity to perform with instructors as the first band of the day’s festival.

The clinic was made available as a higher education outlet working in collaboration with local non-profit music education program Jazz in the Arts, to minimize barriers between high school music education, and college music study.

This free clinic is open to the public.  This year’s clinic is Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 9am – 11:30am.  For more information call (337) 309-2712.
